Memphis Police

Oh Memphis Police.....
Why cannot you understand that I was trying to slow down as soon as I saw the speed limit sign change. Do you not give people a chance to slow down? Only 10 mph over, and if I would have had a tiny little bit more time then you would not have to issue me a ticket. Please be more nicer to the citizens, and maybe if you were a little nicer then just give me a warning. Ok thanks. That is all I have to say. I will try to enjoy the rest of the time I have left tonight before I tell my parents I got another ticket. At least this time it will be less.
Sincerely,
Not a TN citizen
P.S. You made my thirteen-year old sister cry because you were screaming so loudly.

  1. I completely understand where you are coming from because I have gotten 4 tickets from MPD, but rightfully deserved. Memphis police officers are pretty hardcore about their jobs and even the little things. Sound violations and window tint is one of their big things, while they should be watching out for bigger crimes in the Memphis area.

  2. YES! Memphis police are bad! but Bartlett police are worse! i had one literally jump in front of my car with his physical body to tell me i was speedng! It made me think how much schooling you need to be a police if you jump in front of a speeding car...

  3. Sometimes I think that some police offices take their jobs a little too far and a little to serious. They issue everyone else tickets like they never speed or brake the laws. Although they have the right, they should be punished for the same actions.

  4. Well my mother works for MPD and she has for the past 20 plus something years. You would think that this would make me love, appreciate them, and be on their side; however that isn't the case with me most times. I feel as though MPD and many of the prestigious positions held by people in Memphis are crooked and that KILLSSSS me! But anyways, I feel your pain. I've had my share of tickets and traffic violations.

  5. Alright, My turn to comment. In my personal experiences with the PoPo,5OH, The Fuzz, um (insert slang/ebonic term here)they have been quite laid back, even though they didn't have to pull a brother over in the first place, I mean smiling and waving isn't a crime TRIX, IT'S FRIENDLY YOU MEAN HEARTED, TRYING TO FILL YAH QUOTA, CORRUPT, BROKE BACK MOUNTAIN COPS. The only time I got pulled over was because I waved at a cop and they saw it as suspicious, aside from that I'm a frequent speeder and have yet to be pulled over or get a ticket. Thank You Need For Speed Most Wanted for giving me the skills I need to avoid cops. Word to my cops, catch me if you can I'm the gingerbread man.

  6. Megan,

You earn the prize for the most comments on a blog, a.k.a. public resonance in "composition speak."

Why do you think that police officers care some much about what should be considered "minor" offenses?
